EXAMPLES of BOOTSTRAP PERCOLATION

  1. The first and last frames for the two simple cases of m=1 and m=2 were already shown for the triangular lattice. An animation at p=.51 can also be viewed here.

  2. The situation for the square lattice is similar for m=2 at p=0.55. For these and the threedimensional lattices it is always the case that m=1,2 do not alter the percolation threshold.

  3. For m=3 and above the situation changes and becomes lattice dependent. For the triangular case, the threshold remains finite for m=3 although here at p=0.66 there is a great attrition of sites. For the square lattice instabilities set in and for all initial concentrations, all sites are annihilated in the infinite system limit.
