Following the observation of the graphitic planes, we made calculations to validate our approach by comparision with abinito calculations. These were most satisfactory.
Hydrogen, which occurs naturally in diamond plays a crucial role in the electrical conduction in doped diamond. (Doped diamonds are desirable semiconductors.) To study this must allow for electronic structure.
We therefore used Tight-Binding Molecular Dynamics to study Hydrogen in Diamond , finding previously unknown structures that explain several previously unexplained experiments. Our scientific conclusions were made mostly by the actual viewing of the animations of the simulations.
