Models of Novel Materials and Surfaces for Nanotechnology

This talk will outline our research program of applications of numerical 
simulation and statistical mechanics techniques to describe size and
shape selection in nanoparticle and colloid synthesis, to study
correlation properties in particle deposition on patterned surfaces, 
and to characterize fatigue in nanostructured materials with self-healing
properties. The detail of the presentation varies from topic to topic,
while the unifying feature of these researches is in utilizing statistical
mechanics models ranging form cluster aggregation to percolation and random
sequential adsorption, to new systems suggested by novel nanotechnology 
applications.
